Best Cart Drawer App for Shopify: 16 Apps Compared (2026)
By Foxr Team · Foxr · Updated · 33 min read

The best cart drawer app for Shopify depends on your order count and your budget. A cart drawer (also called a slide cart or side cart) is the cart that slides in when a shopper taps Add to cart. On October 25, 2026, we checked the App Store listing of 16 live cart drawer apps.
- Start free: Foxr ‑ Cart Drawer & Upsells (new), or Essent Cart Drawer up to 30 orders a month
- Low price, all features: Essent, iCart, or Kaching, from about $9 a month
- Flat price as you grow: Qikify at $14.99, or Amp Slide Cart at $29.99
Before you pick: UpCart, Rebuy, and Monster Cart left the Shopify App Store in October 2026. Most "best of" lists, and the AI chatbots we asked, still recommend them. See what changed.
Key takeaways
- UpCart, Rebuy, and Monster Cart are gone from the App Store as of October 2026. If a list or a chatbot recommends them, it's out of date.
- 17 of the 21 top-ranking lists we checked still pick at least one app that is now delisted. 12 of the 21 put the publisher's own app first.
- "Free" means four different things: no order cap, 30 orders a month, 20 orders in total, or development stores only.
- Some apps price by your Shopify plan, not your orders. AOV.ai, Ego, Corner Cart, and HS Slide Cart do.
- Your theme may already have a cart drawer. Apps add the parts that raise order value: rewards bars, upsells, and gifts.
- Shopify stops running script tags on March 1, 2027. Pick an app that loads as a theme app embed.

Check this first: apps that left the App Store

On October 25, 2026, the App Store pages for UpCart and Rebuy said: "This app is not currently available on the Shopify App Store." HeyApps, a third-party archive, dates these cart and upsell apps:
| App | Delisted | Reviews |
|---|---|---|
| UpCart (Rokt) | October 15 | 947 |
| Aftersell Post Purchase (Rokt) | October 15 | 1,086 |
| Upsell & Cross Sell — Selleasy | October 15 | 2,752 |
| Rebuy Personalization Engine | October 18 | 856 |
| Monster Cart Upsell+ Free Gift | October 21 | 541 |
| STKY ‑ Sticky Add To Cart Bar | October 22 | 500 |
- We don't know why. HeyApps says delisting alone doesn't mean an app was hacked. It lists 490 delisted apps in all, and 49 marked as recovered. We looked for a public reason from Rokt and Rebuy and found none.
- Already use one? We couldn't confirm what happens to stores that have it installed. Ask the developer, and plan a move. Here's how to switch safely.
Why a cart app needs extra care
- A real incident happened in October 2026. On some stores, some shoppers who tapped checkout were sent to a fake payment page. Three vendors, Hulk Product Options, Selleasy, and Swym Wishlist Plus, said unauthorized code or settings reached stores through their apps. Their statements are collected here.
- None of those three are in our list. One app below, Qikify, has an older closed notice about two of its other apps. It's in Qikify's entry.
- Your cart drawer holds the Checkout button. An app that controls it sits right where shoppers go to pay. That's why the checks below matter.
5 checks before you install any cart app
- Is the listing live? Search the app name in the Shopify App Store. If it says "not currently available", skip it.
- Does it load as an app embed? After you install, open the theme editor and go to App embeds. If it's there, you can see it and switch it off. Shopify says script tags stop running on storefronts on March 1, 2027. Its fix for app makers is app embed blocks.
- Read the data access list on the listing. Does the app need to see more than a cart app should?
- Test checkout in a private window. Add an item, tap Checkout, and look at the address bar. You should land on your store's real Shopify checkout.
- Duplicate your theme first. Install on the copy, so a bad app never touches your live store.
What the top-ranking lists and AI chatbots get wrong

We read 21 "best cart drawer app" articles that rank for this search on Google and Bing. Then we asked two AI chatbots the same question. Here's what we found:
- 17 of 21 still pick an app that is now delisted. UpCart is a pick in 12 of them. Most were written before mid-October, so that's bad timing, not bad faith. At least three lists updated after October 15 still pick one.
- 12 of 21 put the publisher's own app first. That includes Oxify's list, the most detailed one we found. It ranks Oxify first.
- Few explain the boring parts: what "free" really means, what you pay at 450 orders, or how to switch apps without breaking checkout. This guide covers all three.
- AI chatbots repeat old lists. We asked Claude, answering from memory with no web search. Its top three were Rebuy, UpCart, and Monster Cart, all now delisted.
- Gemini got facts wrong too. Signed out, it named UpCart and said iCart is free for the first 100 orders. iCart's listing shows a free plan only for development stores. Gemini cited Oxify's list for most of its answer.
The lesson: check the date on any list, including this one. Then open the app's App Store page before you install.
Do you need an app? Your theme may have a cart drawer
Shopify's free Dawn theme has a "Cart type" setting with three choices: Drawer, Page, or Notification. The default is Notification. Open it from the theme editor under Theme settings, then Cart. Other themes name it differently, so look for "cart" in theme settings.
A theme drawer is enough if you only want shoppers to see their items, change quantities, and check out.
Use an app if you want:
- A free shipping or free gift bar that fills as the cart grows
- Upsells inside the cart
- Buy more, save more offers
- A sticky add to cart bar on product pages
- Tests and numbers for your cart
Want to keep your theme's drawer and only add upsells?
That's a common ask. In a Shopify Community thread that ranks for this search, a merchant with a theme drawer wanted upsells only. Replies pointed out that most cart apps replace the whole cart.
All 16 apps here replace your theme's cart. To keep yours, look for an upsell app that says it works inside your theme's drawer, and test it on a duplicate theme. We didn't test any.
1. Foxr ‑ Cart Drawer & Upsells: free slide cart, no order cap

Foxr ‑ Cart Drawer & Upsells replaces your theme cart with a drawer that opens on add to cart. You design it in a live preview. No code.
Quick facts:
- Price: Free. The listing shows one plan and no order cap.
- Launched: October 22, 2026. It had 5.0 stars from 1 review on October 25, 2026.
- Setup: switch on the "Foxr Cart Drawer" app embed in the theme editor, then design the cart in the app. The drawer only shows when the embed is on.
What you get

- Rewards bar: up to six tiers, counted by cart total or item count. Each tier gives a shipping discount, an order discount, or a free gift. Different tiers per market.
- Savings shown in the cart: applied discounts, total savings, and compare-at savings on each item.
- Upsells: products picked by AI, Shopify's complementary products, or your own rules (cart value, product, collection, variant, customer tag, or market). Four layouts.
- Discounted upsells and buy more, save more: "Buy 2 save 10%" under each item, up to 10 offers.

- Cart extras: countdown timer, announcement bar, discount code field, order notes, gift wrap, shipping protection, terms checkbox, and a share cart link.
- Sticky add to cart bar and an optional floating cart button.
- Testing: keep up to 25 cart designs, save drafts, run an A/B test, and translate every text.
- Works with: Klaviyo's Added to Cart event, plus Judge.me, Loox, and Rivyo star ratings in the drawer.

Limits
- It's new, and it has one review. It doesn't have the "Built for Shopify" badge.
- App screens are English only. You can translate what shoppers see in the cart.
- Discounts use Shopify's automatic discounts. The app creates two, "Foxr Discount" and "Foxr Free Shipping". Shopify allows 25 active automatic discounts per store. At the limit, saving a rewards change fails until you turn some off. (Docs)
- Express buttons need a snippet. Shop Pay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay buttons need a short code snippet in your theme, and they don't show in the editor preview. (Docs)
- Unusual themes may need help. If the drawer doesn't open from your theme's buttons, you add custom selectors in Settings.
- Customer-tag exclusions only work for logged-in customers.
- No independent speed or sales data yet. It's three days old.
Best for: stores that want upsells and a rewards bar without an order cap, and are fine trying a new app.
Try it: See the app page, install it free on Shopify, or read the docs.
15 more cart drawer apps
Oxify Cart Drawer & Upsell comes next. The rest are the cart drawer apps with the most reviews in the App Store search for "cart drawer", in order of review count. | Kaching, iCart, HS | Development stores only | No free live plan |

"30 monthly orders by app" is the listing's wording for AOV.ai and Ego. Ask the developer what counts as an order before you rely on it.
The bill as you grow

This is simple math on each app's listed monthly price.
| App | 90 orders a month | 450 orders a month |
|---|---|---|
| Foxr ‑ Cart Drawer & Upsells | $0 | $0 |
| Qikify (Premium) | $14.99 | $14.99 |
| Rapid | $9 | $15 |
| Essent | $8.99 | $23.99 |
| Kaching | $9.99 | $24.99 |
| iCart | $9 | $29 |
| Amp (Growth) | $29.99 | $29.99 |
| Oxify | $9.99 | $29.99 |
| Unicorn (Grow) | $19.99 | about $30.49 |
| Cartly | $16.99 | $49.99 |
- Priced by Shopify plan, not orders: AOV.ai (Basic $15.99, Grow $25.99, Advanced $35.99), Ego (Basic or Grow $12.99, Advanced $19.99, Plus $39.99), Corner Cart (Basic $15, Grow $29, Advanced $59), and HS Slide Cart ($19.99, $29.99, $59.99).
- Cartly jumps from $16.99 to $49.99 as you grow, because its plans stop at 100, 300, and 750 orders.
- Unicorn adds $0.03 per order after 100 on Grow, so the price climbs slowly with every order.
- Check the plan above yours. Several listings have bigger plans we left out.
Big stores: 1,000+ orders a month
- No order cap listed: Foxr (free), Qikify Premium ($14.99), Amp ($29.99 or $49.99), Rapid Elite ($29), and the plan-priced apps: AOV.ai, Ego, and Corner Cart (up to 5,000 orders).
- Shopify Plus plans: Qikify ($99, with priority support and custom requests), Ego ($39.99), and Unicorn Elevate ($249.99, with setup done for you).
- Listing tops out lower: Kaching (499 orders), iCart (500), Cartly (750), and Oxify (1,000). Essent says it has plans up to 10,000+ orders. Ask each one for its price at your size.
How to choose a cart drawer app
| Your situation | Start with |
|---|---|
| Under 30 orders a month | Essent, Ego, or AOV.ai (free) |
| No budget and no order cap | Foxr ‑ Cart Drawer & Upsells |
| 100 to 500 orders, want all features | Essent, Kaching, or iCart |
| Orders keep growing, want a flat price | Qikify or Amp Slide Cart |
| Shopify Basic plan, want a low fee | Ego, Corner Cart, or AOV.ai |
| Different offers per market | Unicorn, Snap, or Foxr |
| Upsells at checkout and after purchase | Oxify Cart Drawer & Upsell |
| Moving off UpCart, Rebuy, or Monster Cart | Kaching, Essent, or Amp, then the steps below |
Ask these seven questions before you pick:
- Is the listing live? (See the checks above.)
- What does free really mean? Look at the order cap, and what's missing.
- What's the price at your size? Many apps price by orders or by Shopify plan.
- Does it have the rewards bar you need? One goal or several tiers? Free shipping only, or gifts too?
- How are upsells picked? By AI, by your rules, or both?
- Can you test it? Look for drafts, A/B tests, and analytics.
- Does it fit your tools? Check your review app, email app, and languages.
How to switch cart drawer apps without breaking checkout
This matters most if you use UpCart, Rebuy, or Monster Cart today.
- Step 1: Write down what your cart does now. List your reward tiers, upsells, gifts, discount code box, notes, add-ons, and translations. Take phone screenshots.
- Step 2: Duplicate your live theme. Do all the work on the copy.
- Step 3: Install the new app on the copy. Turn on its app embed in the theme editor, and turn off the old app's embed in the same copy.
- Step 4: Rebuild your offers. Start with the free shipping bar and one upsell. Match your old goals, so repeat shoppers see the same deal.
- Step 5: Check your discounts. In Shopify admin, open Discounts and look for automatic discounts the old app made. Two apps giving the same reward can clash or double up. Plan to turn the old ones off when the new cart goes live.
- Step 6: Test the copy on a phone in a private window. Add an item, change the quantity, reach the free shipping goal, add an upsell, use a code, and tap Checkout.
- Step 7: Publish the copy, then uninstall the old app. Shopify says some apps leave code in your theme after you uninstall, so follow the old app's removal steps.
- Step 8: Watch two full weeks of average order value and the share of carts that reach checkout.
How to test a cart drawer in 30 minutes
- Minutes 1 to 5: duplicate your theme. Work on the copy.
- Minutes 5 to 10: install the app and turn on its app embed in the theme editor. Save.
- Minutes 10 to 15: set one goal. Make a free shipping bar a bit above your current average order value. You'll find that number in Shopify Analytics. This is our rule of thumb, not a Shopify rule.
- Minutes 15 to 20: add one upsell that costs less than the item in the cart.
- Minutes 20 to 25: test on a phone. Add an item, change the quantity, remove it, add it again, and tap Checkout. Do it in a private window and confirm you land on your real checkout.
- Minutes 25 to 30: run PageSpeed Insights on a product page. Save the score. Check it again on the live store later.
Then publish the theme and watch two full weeks. Track average order value and the share of carts that reach checkout.
Start your "before" numbers after September 23, 2026. Shopify changed how it counts sessions from September 21 to 23. Our guide to testing video and conversion rate shows how to compare fairly.
5 cart drawer mistakes
- A free shipping goal that's too high. If shoppers can't reach it, they ignore the bar.
- Too many offers in a small drawer. On a phone, a drawer with a bar, three upsells, and a banner hides the Checkout button.
- Two cart apps at once. Two apps that both open on add to cart can fight. Run one.
- Leaving the old app on. When you switch, turn off the old app's embed, uninstall it, then check your theme for leftover code.
- Trusting a lift number. Most numbers online come from app makers, about their own apps. We found no independent study. Test on your own store.
How we made this list
- App facts: on October 25, 2026, we searched "cart drawer" in the Shopify App Store and read each app's listing: price, plans, rating, review count, launch date, and Built for Shopify badge.
- Which apps: Foxr ‑ Cart Drawer & Upsells and Oxify Cart Drawer & Upsell, then the cart drawer apps with the most reviews. Bigger suites like Vitals, Candy Rack, and Moon Bundles are under "Also on the App Store".
- Delisted apps: we opened the UpCart and Rebuy pages ourselves. Other dates and review counts come from the HeyApps archive.
- Top-ranking lists: Google results came from Ubersuggest for four searches like this one (one collected October 25, three cached between August 27 and October 13). Google itself showed us a bot check, so we didn't use it directly. We also read Bing's first page on October 25. We measured each article's apps, length, date, and picks.
- AI chatbots: on October 25, we asked Claude (from memory, no web search) and Gemini (signed out) for the best cart drawer apps.
- Merchant comments: Reddit threads also rank for this search, but Reddit blocked our tools, so merchant comments come from Shopify Community only.
- Foxr ‑ Cart Drawer & Upsells: details come from its App Store listing and its docs.
- Images: every app image comes from that app's Shopify App Store listing and is labeled with its name. They are the makers' own marketing graphics with demo products, not our screenshots.
- Other sources: the Dawn "Cart type" setting is from Shopify's Dawn code. The script tag dates are from Shopify's developer changelog.
- What we didn't do: we did not install or test the other 15 apps, and we did not measure speed or sales lift. We tried to compare code size on each app's demo store, then dropped it, because most demo pages don't show the app's files in the page code.
- Freshness: prices and listings change often. Check each link before you install.
FAQ
What is the best cart drawer app for Shopify?
It depends on your orders and budget. For a free start, look at Foxr ‑ Cart Drawer & Upsells (new, free) or Essent Cart Drawer (free to 30 orders). For the most reviews, look at Kaching CartDrawer. For a price that doesn't climb, look at Qikify or Amp Slide Cart.
What is a cart drawer on Shopify?
A cart drawer slides in from the side when a shopper adds a product. It's also called a slide cart or side cart. Shoppers see their items, change quantities, and check out without leaving the page.
What is the best free cart drawer app for Shopify?
Foxr ‑ Cart Drawer & Upsells is free with no order cap on its listing. Snap and Sale max are listed as free. Qikify, Amp, and Corner Cart have free basic plans.
Essent, AOV.ai, and Ego are free up to 30 orders a month, and Rapid up to 25. Cartly is free for the first 20 orders in total. Kaching, iCart, and HS Slide Cart are free only on development stores.
Does Shopify have a built-in cart drawer?
Yes, in some themes. In Dawn, go to Theme settings, then Cart, and set "Cart type" to Drawer. It shows items and checkout, but not rewards bars, upsells, or gifts. Those come from an app.
Cart drawer or cart page: which is better?
A drawer keeps shoppers on the page and is quicker. A cart page gives more room. In Dawn you can choose Drawer, Page, or Notification. We found no independent study that says one always wins, so test both if you can.
How do I add a cart drawer to Shopify?
Two ways. If your theme has the setting, open Theme settings, then Cart, and pick Drawer. For more features, install an app, turn on its app embed in the theme editor, and set it up in the app. Do it on a duplicate theme first.
Is UpCart still available?
On October 25, 2026, its App Store page said "This app is not currently available on the Shopify App Store". HeyApps shows it delisted on October 15, 2026. We found no public reason.
What are the best UpCart alternatives?
Live apps with a similar setup are Kaching CartDrawer, Essent Cart Drawer, and Amp Slide Cart. For a free option, try Foxr ‑ Cart Drawer & Upsells. Follow the switching steps above, so your discounts and checkout keep working.
Is Rebuy still on the Shopify App Store?
Rebuy Personalization Engine showed "not currently available" on October 25, 2026, and HeyApps dates its delisting to October 18. Rebuy is a personalization tool, not only a cart drawer. Ask Rebuy directly if you already use it.
Is Monster Cart still available?
HeyApps lists Monster Cart Upsell+ Free Gift as delisted on October 21, 2026. Check its App Store page before you rely on it.
Can I keep my theme's cart drawer and only add upsells?
Yes, with the right app. All 16 apps here replace your theme's cart. Look for an upsell app that says it works inside your theme's drawer, and test it on a duplicate theme first.
Which cart drawer app is best for Shopify Plus?
Qikify has a $99 Shopify Plus plan with priority support and custom requests. Ego's Plus plan is $39.99. Unicorn's $249.99 Elevate plan includes setup done for you. AOV.ai's listing shows no Plus price.
Why is my cart drawer not working?
Check these in order:
- The app embed is off in the theme editor.
- A theme update changed your add-to-cart button, so the app can't find it.
- Another app also opens a cart.
- Your theme uses unusual button names. Some apps let you enter your own selectors. Foxr ‑ Cart Drawer & Upsells does in Settings.
What does "Built for Shopify" mean?
It's a badge on the App Store. Shopify says it means the app "meets our highest standards for performance, design, and integration". Of the 15 other apps here, 11 have it. iCart, Qikify, HS Slide Cart, and Sale max don't, and neither does Foxr ‑ Cart Drawer & Upsells.
Do cart drawers increase sales?
They can, if they add value: a free shipping bar, a good upsell, and a fast checkout. Most lift numbers online come from app makers. We found no independent study, so run your own test for two weeks.
How do I stop a cart drawer from slowing my store?
Every app adds code. Test a product page with PageSpeed Insights before and after you install. Keep the drawer simple, and remove apps you stopped using.
Next step: test one app for 30 minutes
Pick one app from the table above. Duplicate your theme, follow the 30-minute test, and read your numbers after two weeks.
If you want a free slide cart with a rewards bar, upsells, and a sticky add to cart bar, install Foxr ‑ Cart Drawer & Upsells free on the Shopify App Store or see the app page.
